This is the technical blog of Ben Johnson. My first post explains the background and position of the blog title.
I have filled various leadership roles over the last decade, ranging from Intranet Manager to Software Architect to Director of Development. For the last 8 years, I’ve focused on web-based hosted solutions using Java and open source frameworks. I’m interested in quality behaviors for the end-user and flexible back-end code that can react to changing product needs.
I’ve been developing server-side web solutions for over 15 years. Yes, that puts me very early in the web arena (I dealt with “cross browser issues” before the <table> tag was invented), and have been through technologies of Perl, ColdFusion, ASP, Lotus Notes, and iterations of J2EE.
