I recommend purchasing travel insurance with a cancel-for-any-reason policy to help secure your investment. You can purchase trip cancellation insurance for as little as $40. Use a site like insuremytrip.com to compare plans against one another.
Due to the nature of the business in which many paid costs are immediately sent to third-parties in order to obtain items and services necessary for the workshop, GreatDanePhotos has a strict no-refund policy.
Amy Johnson and GreatDanePhotos are not responsible for reimbursement of any travel or other expenses, such as but not limited to nonrefundable or refundable airline tickets, hotel rooms, workshop fees or other travel expenses or expenses, related to a workshop cancellation or other events.
GreatDanePhotos is also not responsible for events that prevent you from arriving at the workshop, such as but not limited to weather events, canceled flights, government shutdowns or other foreseen or unforeseen events and circumstances.
In the event that a government shutdown or other restriction occurs that prevents access to the original workshop location (such as COVID-19), we will do our best to find suitable alternatives in the same area. Refunds are not available in the case of a government shutdown or other travel restrictions. We recommend travel insurance to protect yourself from this possibility.
It is impossible to predict the weather when arranging for a workshop. What some would consider bad weather often makes for great photography. Participants should arrive at the workshop prepared for all weather conditions and temperatures.
Cancellation
If you do not have travel insurance, which is very strongly recommended, here is what to expect.
Your initial deposit is non-refundable. No exceptions or credits provided. Payments due are scheduled approximately as shown below, based on the start date of your event. Once paid, they become non-refundable.
Deposit: Due at registration
Final installment: 60 days before the first day of the workshop
Cancelation and non-payment: If you need to cancel your reservation, all payments you have made up until the date of cancelation are non-refundable.
Payments not made on-time will have a 5-day grace period for you to complete payment so that your registration remains active. If your payment is not completed by that time, your seat may be cancelled and no refund issued.
If you choose to pay for the entire workshop up front in one lump sum, should you need to cancel, your refund will be pro-rated according to the due date for the final payment compared to your cancelation date. (For example, if you canceled before the final payment was due, the amount equal to the portion calculated for the final payment will be refunded to you.)
No refunds, credit, certificates, etc. will be issued for cancelations as a large percentage of your payments are directed toward non-refundable fees we pay to secure your excursions, lodging, meals, transportation, staffing and more.
Focused Wild reserves the right to resell, gift or otherwise utilize your canceled reservation for any purpose at the discretion of Focused Wild without further obligation or consideration to you.
Substitutions/transfers: If you wish to substitute another individual in your place, we will gladly transfer your reservation to another individual providing you notify us in writing via email and include their name, address, phone number and email address. There is a $350 administrative fee for this transfer.
The individual to be transferred/substituted in your seat must be approved by Focused Wild, must be over 18 years of age, confirm he/she is mentally and physically able to participate, agree to all terms, and pay Focused Wild in full for any amounts remaining by the due dates provided in your reservation.
